Autumn in Tenterfield- the perfect mini-break

  |   Our Hotel

Autumn is truly the best time to visit Tenterfield. The entire town is transformed into magnificent burnt oranges and glorious rich reds as the leaves change their colour before they fall. Come and behold the stunning beauty as this heritage town is bathed in all it’s Autumn splendour.
Not only is the town visually spectacular, there is a lot happening in town during Autumn to keep you entertained.
The highly competitive Oracles of the Bush is on every year and this year it will be held over the weekend of 5th till the 8th of April. This four day cultural event encompasses live performance of Australian Bush poetry and everyone gets super competitive with cash prizes for both performance and written bush poetry. There are categories for Juniors and Seniors and it is a whole lot of fun for the whole family.
The Tenterfield Farmers and Producers markets are held on a Saturday showcasing some of the region’s best available produce. It’s a regular weekend market for all farmers, growers, producers and artisans from Tenterfield. Have a lazy wander through the stalls and prepare to be tantalised with the range of gorgeous ripe fruit and veg, herbs, plants, artisan breads, pasta, stunning flowers, local honey and eggs and handmade preserves and baked goods- not to mention sewing and premium silver creations as well!
And don’t forget all the natural beauty in and around Tenterfield awaiting for you to explore. The CBH has a range of picnic hampers to help send you off exploring our great national parks. From the spectacular and easy to access Boonoo Boonoo Falls (http://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/visit-a-park/parks/boonoo-boonoo-national-park), to exploring the rock pools and hiking around the The Pyramids and the largest Granite rock in the Southern Hemisphere, Bald Rock (https://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/visit-a-park/parks/bald-rock-national-park). The opportunities are endless, and Autumn offers the perfect temperature to explore the great outdoors.
Book your accommodation at the CBH and truly escape the hustle and bustle of city life. The CBH is just 3 hours from Brisbane and Bryon Bay, making it close enough to drive to, and just far enough away to really escape!
